1. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery. This includes water, chewing gum, mints, etc.

2. Stop all vitamins, multi vitamins and aspirin 7days prior to surgery. If you are taking any blood thinners, please consult with your surgeon and/or primary physician for further instructions.

3. A RESPONSIBLE ADULT MUST ACCOMPANY YOU TO THE RYE AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTER (RYE ASC) AND BE AVAILABLE TO DISCUSS YOUR DISCHARGE INSTRUCTIONS AND TO DRIVE YOU HOME. An adult should also be available to you at least 24 hours after surgery. Please do not bring your young children with you.

4. Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes. You will be provided with proper attire while in the Rye ASC.

5. Do not wear make-up or nail polish the day of surgery, or per instructions by your surgeon.

7. If any change in your health occurs within one week prior to your surgery, such as a cold, cough or fever, please notify your surgeon immediately.

8. A pre-operative history, physical examination and laboratory tests may be required prior to surgery. Your surgeon’s office will make these arrangements for you.

9. Please report to the Rye ASC one-hour prior to your appointment so that admission procedures and evaluation by the anesthesia staff may be accomplished.

10. Please bring all your insurance cards, proper ID and completed forms to the Rye ASC. The Rye ASC will expect you to be responsible for the facility and anesthesia charge if it is not covered by your insurance plan. This will include such costs as the charges for use of an operating room, equipment and personnel. Filling out the insurance and billing form in this packet will help us to complete and file the necessary claims with your insurance plan for this facility charge.

If you have any inquires regarding the Rye ASC fees, please feel free to contact our Billing Department at (914-681-3110) at least 3 days prior to the date of surgery.

Your surgeon will bill you separately for his/her professional fee. There may also be an additional bill for the services of an anesthesiologist if you require one.

If you have further questions, please contact us at 914-848-8980.
